Maria Lagona (class ’77 ) known also as BADI, is a Sicilian artist born in Turin whose roots are deeply connected to the province of Catania where she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts. After her graduation, in 2003, she has begun to portray the characters of her paintings with a style that draws inspiration from the art of comic drawings.

Only recently she has decided to share her digital art on social media where her paintings have given birth to rewarding artistic collaborations.

“Irreverent” Badi loves strong colors and the contrasts of bold outlines. She plays with acrylics and with the dialectal expressions of her roots, while appreciating the sensuality of an imperfect, beautiful and assertive woman.
