Peridium: smooth, light-coloured, varying from ochre-white to reddish.
Glebum: pale, ranging from fawn to brown, with only a few wide white veins
Shape: It may vary. It is roundish if the truffle has thrived in sandy soils. Sometimes it can appear irregular, with a gibbous surface.
Dimensions: is relatively small-sized, like a hazelnut, but in some cases it can reach the size of an egg.
Ripening period: from January to April.
How to recognize it: its peridium is smooth, colours are pale or reddish, it is relatively small-sized, the scent is garlicky, the ripening period is late winter/early spring.
